Holidays & Tours to
Mauritius

It is easy to run out of adjectives when attempting to describe the natural beauty of the small tropical Indian Ocean island paradise of Mauritius. The volcanic island Republic, covered with lush forest, streams and waterfalls, and fringed with palms, dazzling white sands and teeming coral reefs, is the dream destination for an idyllic holiday, equipped with modern resorts that have been carefully developed to preserve the island’s beauty and ecology.

Mark Twain is quoted as having said that ‘Mauritius was made first, then heaven was copied from it’, and anyone who has experienced the island would no doubt agree with him.

All visitors come for the beaches, the high-quality accommodation, the great food and impeccable service, but most are delighted to discover this island offers so much more, with rocky gorges, volcanoes, waterfalls, great shopping at Port Louis, and a lively night scene at Grand Baie.

When to go to Mauritius

The peak holiday season is from October to April when temperatures are at their highest. Humidity is higher too, but never unbearable with constant gentle breezes. Winter is June to September when temperatures are cooler but still very warm with plenty of sunshine. There are slight regional variations depending on where you visit and its exposure to the trade-winds. All-in-all, Mauritius really is a year-round destination.
