This small Central American nation was one of the first countries to focus on Eco Tourism such is the abundance of wildlife, flora, and fauna, much of it unique to this region. and there are a surprising number of National Parks for such a small country, with the aim of protecting one of the most diverse eco systems in the world. Wildlife lovers will delight in the variety on display, and a two-hour journey in any direction within the country, visitors will find themselves in a new climate and terrain with species unique to that region. Rather than destroy these habitats in favor of mass tourism development, Costa Rica embraces them and protects them, Howler Monkeys are all common enough to see and hear from your hotel balcony and venture further into one of the national parks and you’ll see a huge a variety of both Flora and fauna.

When to go?

Costa Rica experiences heavy rain on the Caribbean coast from May through to November with the highest rainfall being June to August. Although the Pacific Coast also experiences a wet season during this time, it has far less rain. The best time of year to visit is December through to April where the whole country benefits from the warm dry weather. Temperatures in the low lying and coastal areas range from 21-32 degrees C. Most of the year the higher altitude areas experience cooler weather.
